Care Plus will host a “Zoom” presentation to assist parents in supporting student needs during the pandemic. The presentation will consist of a short video (25 minutes) from Abby U. Maitland, MSW, LCSW, LISW-S, a Trauma Trainer Specialist in Bergen Trauma Training Center followed by discussion and questions facilitated by Heather Brown-Huston LPC, Clinical Program Manager at Tenafly High School and Mackenzie Kuhl, LSW, the new Clinical Program Manager at Tenafly Middle School.
On Monday, February 8 at 7 pm: Acknowledging loss for youth in the time of COVID-19: The changing social experience. This brief presentation will provide the basics of understanding how coping during a pandemic differs from other stressors, signs of distress to look for in ourselves and our youth, and coping strategies to implement within our families and communities. The discussion will focus on the importance of staying socially connected in order to build resilience in our children.
