Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope you're enjoying the summer. Transportation to and from school is available for students who meet the eligibility requirements. These requirements are based on the shortest walking distance from the students' residence to the school they are attending.
- Students in grades 5-8 who live more than 2 miles from school
- Students in grades 9-12 who live more than 2.5 miles from school
In accordance with guidelines posted by the NJ Department of education, measurements are determined by the shortest distance along public roadways or walkways between the entrance to the student's home and the nearest public entrance of the school building. This measurement is for eligibility purposes only and is not necessarily the travel path to or from school. Please visit the NJ Department of Education Student Transportation website for more details on eligibility.
We're in the process of finalizing bus routes. If the student qualifies for transportation, you will receive your child(ren)'s route number, stop location, and pick-up time later this month.
Transportation Waiver: If your child(ren) has(have) alternate transportation and won't be riding the bus this year, please complete the attached Transportation Waiver form. This helps us plan routes and ridership accurately.
Reinstatement: If circumstances change you will have the opportunity to request a reinstatement of the transportation services by filling out the Transportation Reinstatement form.
Bergen County Technical Schools Students
The district will provide transportation to all students attending the Bergen Technical School for the 2026-2027 school year:
- Applied Technology HS
- Bergen County Academies
- Bergen County Tech - Paramus
- Bergen County Tech - Teterboro
- Bergen County Institute for Science & Technology @ NV / Demarest
We're in the process of verifying residency and finalizing bus routes. If the student qualifies for transportation, you will receive your child(ren)'s route number, stop location, and pick-up time later this month.
