Office of the Assistant Superintendent - Curriculum & Instruction

Dear Tenafly Students, Staff and Community:

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Assistant Superintendent of Tenafly Public Schools. As I transition from being a school administrator to the Assistant Superintendent, I feel very privileged to continue working with a dedicated team of educational professionals who are focused on student learning, committed to high expectations, innovation, and collaboration.

I have been with the Tenafly school district since 2005, first working as a classroom teacher, then as a literacy staff developer, and for the past seven years, I have had the honor of being the Principal of Mackay Elementary School. For the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working at Tenafly High School as a Vice Principal. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Education from Brandeis University and my master’s degree in Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.

As a longtime member of the Tenafly Public School system, I am proud of our academic history and rich cultural excellence, which is deeply rooted in a strong curriculum and instruction. I believe that every child has a special gift to offer to this world. It is our job to help each child open that gift and teach them how to utilize and apply it. It is my sincere desire to provide various opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive individuals in a rapidly changing society.

Through a close and collegial partnership, I am confident we will continue to work together to sustain the rich history of academic and cultural excellence of Tenafly Public Schools.

Looking forward to a great year together,

Brenda Yoo, Assistant Superintendent of C&I
