Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Brenda Yoo
Dear Mackay Families,
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Principal of Mackay School. I feel privileged and honored to be leading such a dedicated team of educational professionals who are focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration.
I have been with the Tenafly school district since 2005, first working as a classroom teacher and then as a literacy staff developer. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Elementary Education from Brandeis University and my master’s degree in Administration from Teacher’s College, Columbia University.
I believe that every child has a special gift to give to this world. It is our job to help each child to open that gift and teach him/her how to utilize and apply it. It is my sincere desire to provide various opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive individuals in a vastly changing society.
As the Principal, my goal is simple: to establish positive and productive relationships with all of the Mackay community members. Mackay School is a place where strong connections are made between home and school and where all staff members are committed to developing the whole child.
Please remember, my door is always open. I am excited and very much looking forward to working with you and learning with you. Through a close and collegial partnership, I am confident we can work together to sustain the rich history of academic and cultural excellence of Mackay School. You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 201-816-7700 should you have any questions or concerns.
