Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Cordelia Bergamo
With joy and enthusiasm I teach vocal music at Maugham and Smith. I have been employed by the Tenafly Public Schools since 1971. My training includes a B.M.Ed. from Westminster Choir College, an M.A. from Teachers' College, Columbia Univ. and additional graduate courses from U.N.C. Chapel Hill, and Bank Street.
Infusing classroom content within the music curriculum and the proper training of young singing voices is given top priority throughout the school year. In addition, students are exposed to composers and some examples of their famous compositions.
This life-long dedication to my profession led to being the music consultant for all 65 episodes of Disney's "Little Einsteins" T.V. series. Working with the story-book writers also led to becoming a member of A.S.C.A.P. Writing lyrics for various plays/classroom projects has been at times a spontaneous activity that started within the first four months of teaching at Maugham, as that is when first version of the Maugham School Song was wriiten.
Parents who contact me with any questions can be assured of a timely response.
My preferred method of contact is cbergamo@tenafly.k12.nj.us
