Hola estudiantes y padres,

Me llamo Sra. Tellez, this is my fourth year at Maugham Elementary School. I'm the Spanish teacher in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. Prior to coming to Tenafly, I was a teacher at a dual language school in Hoboken for five years. Teaching Spanish to students at these grade levels is a joy since they are eager to learn a new language. In addition, they bring a great deal of enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, which I so enjoy.

I am looking forward to a great year filled with learning and fun while studying the Spanish language and culture.

I use a variety of activities to help students learn and use the Spanish language. These include music, games, literature, and technology. I also use the Symtalk Language Program, which is a visual language program, to help students build vocabulary and understand language structure. "Rockalingua is another program that I use, as well, which is a  music-based program with many enjoyable activities for students to increase their communicative skills in Spanish. My goal is to help students gain the confidence needed to use the Spanish language inside and outside the classroom setting.
