Welcome back to the 2019-2020 academic year. I am excited about the coming year and excited about teaching your children. Should you have any questions please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will call you back promptly.
With regards to the parent portal and the online gradebook, please be patient. I will do my best to get all assignments and assessments posted as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you have any concerns regarding your child's marking period grade, please feel free to email me and I will contact you through either email or with a phone call.

Mr. Doogan's Homework will be posted on the calendar daily. If your child is absent, please feel free to shoot me out an email and then please follow up on my daily calendar for what we did and what was assigned.
Course Requirements & Grading:
Students, through the course of the year, will be learning topics coverig the over arching concepts in Social Studies. Be prepared, starting day one, to examine and learn about the world in a new and realistic way.
Students will be evaluated a/o graded by the following factors:
Homework completion: 35%
Daily Assessment Checks: 30%
Marking Period Assessments: 25%
Contributory Do Now(s) & Participation: 10%

Mr. Francis Doogan
Mr. Doogan is currently the seventh grade Team Purple Social Studies teacher. As of this academic year, he is currently in his 22nd year of teaching in the Middle School and in his 24th year overall in the State of New Jersey. Mr. Doogan grew up locally in Ridgewood, New Jersey and went to study at Boston College where he studied both Education and History for his Bachelor's and History for his Master's. In recent years, Mr. Doogan went on to complete post graduate work at institutions around the nation, and world, such as Harvard University, Oxford University, Mary Grove College, Ramapo College, Florida Atlantic University, and Farleigh Dickenson University. Mr. Doogan commutes to work from Red Bank daily where he lives with his wife, Colleen, and their three children Conor, Abigail, and Declan.
In his leisure time, Mr. Doogan volunteers for both the YMCA and for USA Swimming as a Level Two swim official.
