Smith School Home School Association (H.S.A.)
    Overview:

The Smith School HSA is organized for the purpose of fostering a supportive and productive relationship among the children, parents, teachers and staff. The objectives of this Association are:
    • To ensure the welfare and well being of each child in an environment conducive to learning and growing.
    • To promote the relationship between the home and school and to enhance cooperation among parents, teachers, administrators, staff and community for the benefit of our children.
The HSA operates at the intersections of the Principal, the parents and the teachers. The HSA raises money in an effort to provide Smith School with the educational resources and tools necessary to enhance our children’s learning. Working together, the parents and faculty complete the purchase of many necessary tools and supplies to help our children in the classroom.

    • Cultural arts presentations and assemblies, including a week long artist in residency program
    • A field trip allowance for all classes to help defray the costs of field trips
    • International Day – each year volunteers organize a day long presentation so students can experience the culture of another country and taste the cuisine
    • Go Green - each year volunteers organize activities related to Earth Day
    • Wellness events - each year volunteers organize activities to teach students about wellness
    • Musical instruments and concerts
    • Anti-bullying education and programs
