What is Basic Skills?
Basic Skills is a program that offers supplementary support to general education students in the subjects of math and reading in grades Kindergarten through five. Students are reccomended for Basic Skills using a variety of measures. Some of these measures include but are not limited to: assessment results, class performance and report card criteria.
Students receciving Basic Skills will be given a schedule for instruction that will not conflict with classroom instruction in Reading or Math.
Student progress is contiously monitored throughout the year and communication with the classroom teacher is ongoing.
