• Maugham Art Units of Study

     

    In all levels I strive to have a multi-faceted approach to the teaching of art. I will teach the basic skills and knowledge of the elements of art and principles of design, but usually try to incorporate them into projects about a historical artist, art movement or design challenge so that students develop the understanding of how to apply the elements and principles toward their own expressive vision. I also encourage students to bring their own interests and imagination to the tasks. Just as no two students are alike, I hope no two assignments in a class look alike.  The curriculum units for each grade is as follows:
