  • Books on Shelf
"These books are not lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves.  From each of them goes out its own voice... and just as the touch of a button on our radio set will fill the room with music, by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart."
[Adapted from Gilbert Highet's The Immortal Profession]

Ms. Lucine Z. Kinoian

I went to college at Rutgers University, where I studied Comparative Literature and Philosophy.  Not long after college, my passion for literature led me to pursue a master's degree in English Education from Columbia University's Teachers College.  I strongly believe that through an English and literary education students can develop the attributes needed to be open-minded, lifelong learners who live meaningfully and add value to the world at large.

The 2021-2022 school year will be my seventh year teaching in Tenafly.
