Welcome to Driver Education
The Driver Education curriculum at Tenafly High School is designed to develop a student's strong sense of personal and social responsibility for the common welfare as it is affected by and involved in the operation of a motor vehicle. The program includes fundamentals, which are basic for safe driving. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of rules for safe driving and the laws as they apply to NJ drivers.Students must have their notebook/binders and NJ Driver Manual for every class. Please come prepared and be on time!
Driver Education
Students are responsible to read the NJ Driver Manual.

State Exam will be administered around the last week of the marking period.
Passing score: 80% or betterELIGIBILITY & ATTENDANCE:
In order to be eligible to take the NJ Written State Exam, students must be in good standing with a class average of 60% or better, meet attendance requirements and have fulfilled the required hours of seat time.- ATTENDANCE in Driver Education is state regulated and students are required to fulfill seat time. Driver Education as per state law, will follow a 30 hour requirement. Please be aware of your attendance when scheduling appointments, trips etc. Excessive absences may prevent a student from fulfilling the course requirements and being eligible to take state exam.
