• Painting Syllabus

This Painting course will explore the art of applying color to a surface with a range of liquid mediums and techniques, such as acrylics, watercolor, printing inks, India ink, etc.  Inspiration for projects will come from a variety of sources including art history, contemporary life, old masters, recent discoveries, and the halls and outdoor spaces of Tenafly High School.  Painting is a special art form, which allows an artist to express a personal point of view or unique way of seeing the world. Students must learn to communicate through painting by developing their own style.  Style will be developed by understanding basic techniques of painting covered in this class.
