It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the Vice Principal of Tenafly High School. As I transition from being an elementary principal to the high school vice Principal, I feel very privileged to continue to work with a dedicated team of educational professionals who are focused on student learning, a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration.
I have been with the Tenafly school district since 2005, first working as a classroom teacher, then as a literacy staff developer and, for the past seven years, I have had the honor of being the Principal of Mackay Elementary School. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and Education from Brandeis University and my master’s degree in Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.
As a longtime member of the Tenafly Public School system, I am proud of our academic history and rich cultural excellence that is deeply rooted in the strong curriculum and instruction. I believe that every child has a special gift to give to this world. It is our job to help each child to open that gift and teach him/her how to utilize and apply it. It is my sincere desire to provide various opportunities for our students to acquire the skills to become productive individuals in a vastly changing society.
Through a close and collegial partnership, I am confident we will continue to work together to sustain the rich history of academic and cultural excellence of Tenafly High School.
Looking forward to a great year together,
Brenda Yoo
