Dear TMS Community,
As an added safety measure this academic year, students are required to wear a student identification badge at all times. In an effort to promote safety and security in our schools, all middle school students received a lanyard and ID card today. We have issued a specific colored lanyard to each grade: red for 6th, yellow for 7th, and blue for 8th grade. Students should come to school with their lanyards every day. They must wear their lanyards around their necks at all times unless it interferes with an activity in class. Students who forget their lanyards must go to the main office to receive a temporary ID. Any student who loses their lanyard/ID must pay $5 to get a replacement. Consequences for failure to possess an ID are as follows:
- 1st offense: warning
- 2nd offense: parent notification
- 3rd and subsequent offenses: central detention and parent notification
Students are not permitted to alter the photo identification card by drawing on it or putting stickers on it, however, they are free to decorate their lanyards. Please discuss with your child the necessity of these safety measures.
We look forward to a successful and safe academic year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Patrick Comey
