While it is not our place to take a position on any issue of political or social controversy, it is very much our place to ensure that all of our students, and everyone in the Tenafly Public Schools community, is safe and feels safe. It is our responsibility to foster mutual respect, to celebrate and learn from the diversity that enriches our school, and to empower our students to help create a better world -- a world in which love triumphs over hate, and what unites us triumphs over what divides us.
Achieving these goals requires our collective effort. We ask each of you to be part of the solution, and we welcome your voices and ideas into the conversations we need to have.
Individuals make mistakes, in word or action, and those mistakes can cause pain and fear. We assure you that the administration will address those mistakes with a combination of serious consequences and concerted efforts to lead those individuals toward a better understanding of their own behavior. In those situations our response will be, and must be, private.
Our commitment to providing a safe and respectful learning environment is unwavering and we appreciate your cooperation in joining us.
