• Update April 8, 2021- While the state of New Jersey continues to discourage strongly all non-essential interstate travel at this time, NJ has adopted the CDC-recommended guidelines for travel, and the Tenafly Public Schools will implement these guidelines.  Note that any travel must be noted in when answering the relevant question on the Symptom Tracker Survey. For all non-vaccinated and non-COVID affected individuals, the existing guidelines noted below still hold. Thank you.

    NOTE: Please be sure to verify NJ and Tenafly Public Schools travel guidelines and recomendations prior to returning to school. Guidelines are updated regularly and may vary.

    If you are NOT fully vaccinated and HAVE NOT been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 3 months:Students, staff, families, and visitors returning from any U.S. state or territory outside of New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Delaware will be required to adhere to the guidelines currently in place in our district:

    • Travelers are encouraged to take a viral COVID-19 test 3-5 days after the return to NJ.
      • If travelers test negative, they will require a  7 day quarantine AND presentation of negative test results before being allowed onsite in our schools/offices.  Day one of quarantine begins with their full first day in NJ.
      • If travelers test positive, they will require a 10 day quarantine following the test results before being allowed onsite in our schools/offices.
    • If testing does not occur (or if the results are delayed), travelers will require a 10-day quarantinefollowing their return to NJ before being allowed onsite in our schools/offices. Day one of quarantine begins with their full first day in NJ.
    • * A copy of your negative viral test will be required for your re-entry to district.

    If you ARE fully vaccinated( fully vaccinated is defined as 2 weeks since the final dose of the vaccination) : 

    Fully vaccinated individuals who currently have no symptoms of COVID-19 do not need to quarantine following domestic travel before reporting onsite to our schools or offices.

    • If you are a fully vaccinated studentyou will need to provide documentationof such your school nurse and principal.  A copy of your vaccination card is to be submitted either via email or hard copy.
    • If you are a fully vaccinated staff memberyou will need to provide documentationof such your building administrator and to our HR department.  A copy of your vaccination card is to be submitted either via email or hard copy.
    • Fully vaccinated visitors will need to provide a copy of their vaccination card to the main office of the building(s) they are visiting upon entrance. 

     

    If you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 3 months:Individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in the past three months and currently have no symptoms of COVID-19 do not need to quarantine following travel (domestic or international) before reporting onsite to our schools or offices. Any person who tested positive for COVID-19 with a viral test and has clinically recovered within 3 months of coming into contact with COVID-19 does not have to quarantine provided they are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.

        • If you are a COVID-affected studentyou will need to provide documentation of such your school nurse and principal.  A copy of your positive test results are to be submitted either via email or hard copy.
        • If you are a COVID-affected staff memberyou will need to provide documentation of such your building administrator and to our HR department.  A copy of your positive test results are to be submitted either via email or hard copy.
        • COVID-affected visitors will need to provide a copy of their positive test results to the main office of the building(s) they are visiting upon entrance

    NOTE: After three months since testing positive, the guidelines for NOT fully vaccinated individuals will apply unless the individual meets the criteria for a fully vaccinated individual

    Additionally, a family’s decision to travel during spring break will result in the student's temporary enrollment in a full virtual program for the duration of any quarantine period.
