STEM Learning in the Library
In addition to exciting Library lessons students are introduced to a variety of STEM challenges throughout the year. Recently Smith Library acquired KEVA planks through a generous donation from the Smith H.S.A and the entire school is excited to solve unique KEVA plank challenges. Take a look at the pictures below!
Students read a book about a snowman and learned how snowflakes are formed. Then they were challenged to build a snowflake and snowman using KEVA planks!
Students played a game of KEVAtalk. One student built a structure using 10 planks and gave verbal directions to their partner. After the structure was built, the students revealed their creations and learned the importance of giving clear directions.
