     Elementary K-5

    • General & Instrumental Music: To implement Smart music into the formal curriculum (24 hours)
    • Grade 1 Social Studies: To revise units of study to align with new 2020 New Jersey Student Learning Standards (40 hours)
    • Grades 2-5 Interdisciplinary Nonfiction Literacy and Science Units: To infuse grade-level, NJSLS-aligned science texts into the nonfiction units of study in reading and writing.  60 hours (15 hours per grade)
    • Grade 1 & 2 Spanish:  To revise the grades 1 & 2 Spanish curriculum to account for the first year of instruction in grades K & 1 (20 hours)

    Middle School 

    • Music: To implement Smart music into the formal curriculum (24 hours)
    • Math 7 Advanced: Curriculum writing and planning for new course; curriculum to include opportunities for differentiated instruction, technology integration, and cross-content learning (80 hours)
    • Social Studies 8: To develop an enriching technology curriculum within the newly adopted American History text (60 hours)

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or Public Relations or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Familiar with a variety of the communication concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Computer science, information technology or graphics communication experience desirable.
    • Experience with, and the ability to utilize, web applications and programming languages such as HTML.
    • Experience with various software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc.) preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience with the ability to convert existing data to web format and export data options.
    • Must possess excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrated experience to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

    Job Goals:

    Perform a variety of communication and technical tasks by facilitating the development of accurate and timely internal/external communication and information processes that contribute to and encourage community involvement in the District’s efforts to meet the instructional needs of students. 

    In conjunction with building and department leadership, work collaboratively to ensuring all school websites and department pages are up to date with current and accurate information, all while maintaining a high level of excellent customer service. These tasks will be expected to be performed with a high level of social and interpersonal skills as demonstrated through communication, teamwork, and collaboration. 

    Job responsibilities may be required to be carried out in school buildings, offices, classrooms, and other designated instructional/learning areas.
