After graduating from Bergenfield High School in 2018, Mr. Fugaban took his first steps towards his career in music and teaching at New Jersey City University in 2018, pursuing a B.A. in Music and NJ teaching license. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he has taught in public schools and music schools in the northern New Jersey area, including the Tenafly Public School District, O. DiBella Music Inc. in Bergenfield, Vienna The Music School in West Orange, and North Bergen High School. He graduated in June 2022, while working as a long-term substitute at Mackay Elementary School.
Last year, Mr. Fugaban wore a few different hats in Tenafly; he completed his Student Teaching at Tenafly Middle School in May 2022 under the guidance of Dr. Kimberly Burja, and later substituted for Mrs. DeJoseph for the remainder of the school year at Mackay and Maugham. Additionally, Mr. Fugaban was part of the Tenafly High School Marching Band Staff in the Fall.
He is super-duper excited to be returning to Mackay School, and also to be working with the THS Marching Band, for the 2022-23 school year!!
Outside of the classroom, Mr. Fugaban performs with the Teaneck Community Band during their summer concert seasons. He loves to work on mechanical things, such as fixing cars and instruments. He also loves to play video games, when he gets the chance to, and he also has two dogs at home and enjoys playing music for them in his free time.
