"These books are not lumps of lifeless paper, but minds alive on the shelves. From each of them goes out its own voice... and just as the touch of a button on our radio set will fill the room with music, by taking down one of these volumes and opening it, one can call into range the voice of a man far distant in time and space, and hear him speaking to us, mind to mind, heart to heart."

Team 8-Green Language Arts
Welcome to a new year at Tenafly Middle School! I will be teaching 8th Grade Language Arts this school year. Throughout the year I look forward to reading, writing, and thinking together, and growing both as a class and as our own individual selves.
I went to college at Rutgers University, where I studied Comparative Literature and Philosophy. Not long after college, my passion for literature led me to pursue a master's degree in English Education from Columbia University's Teachers College. I strongly believe that through an English and literary education students can develop the attributes needed to be open-minded, lifelong learners who live meaningfully and add value to the world at large. If you have any questions then please feel free to reach out to me: LKinoian@tenafly.k12.nj.usIf you would like to watch my TEDx Talk then please click HERE for the video.
